As we have seen from our previous section, none of Mr. Saul's victims are aware to this day that they have been victimized. In a way, Mr. Saul is like the legendary cuckoo bird that is able to be fed, undetected, by the host parents of another species of birds believing that they are feeding their own brood and not an impostor.

Exactly as in the world of the wild birds where the cuckoo bird was able to find a niche in the grand scale of evolution, Mr. Saul and the like found their own niche within the human species. As in the evolution of the cuckoo birds that are now being represented by a number of "specialized" cuckoos (like ani, coua, coucal, guira, roadrunner, and so forth), the human impostors through their long path of evolution have evolved as well into respective "specialized" categories. Mr. Saul and the like appear to belong to a rather new kind of category --that of Holocaust research impostors. Because of its newest entry into the class of human impostors, Mr. Saul's category has escaped detection and those few that were able to seize it were by in large ignored, squashed, or labeled as "troublemakers." Yet through the persistence of those "troublemakers" society, as a whole, was able to evolve. In a way, the motor of evolution of any society is fueled by its "troublemakers." As a general rule, with practically no exception, societies that had fewer or nonexistent "troublemakers" became ultimately stagnant and were left behind to societies that were faced continuously with vociferous "troublemakers." Because of this, democracy has proven to be superior, by far, to any other form of governmental system and particularly to those governmental societies that attempt to eliminate all of its troublemakers...

Human impostors (sometimes referred to as pretenders) can produce no or very little harm to society, or they can produce great or even deadly harm. As a general rule, the great majority of impostors are perpetrators of some sort and about this kind of impostors we will be talking here.

When harm is done by an intruder and the question of accountability arises, we automatically think of the legal accountability that a caught perpetrator must face. This is the business of the courts of law, be they criminal or civil, and the place to entertain such subject most certainly is not here. In this section, we would like to talk about a different accountability --that with respect to the accountability that needs to be addressed with respect to the defensive readiness that should be in place to prevent such an intrusion in the first place.

You see, the degree of harm that an impostor can inflict upon an unwary victim is the result of a complex process that involves a number of variables one of which being the defensive mechanism set in place by an unwary targeted victim. The more rigorous a defensive system is in place, the greater the chances are for the perpetrator to be stopped at the "gates" of the targeted to-be victim.

Almost immediately after we have encountered the Bingham-Saul "show", we have been warned by our in-house watchdog that something is not exactly "kosher" with that show but, in the beginning, we have ignored all those warnings as we have made a special place in our website for that show to be exhibited. However, the warnings with respect to that "show" became louder and louder until the "sound" of this alarm became unbearable... We stopped everything that we were doing devoting our entire attention to this completely unexpected alarm. Working around the clock, on May 17, 2003 --exactly one month to-date that we have posted in our website the Bingham-Saul "show"-- we have informed Mr. Bingham in our email entitled "Haunted by the lack of credibility in the case of Hiram Bingham IV" that as far as we were concerned the entire "show" was a farce and was being removed entirely from our website. We began our stated email with these stern words:

"We continue to be haunted by the lack of credibility in your coordinated efforts of making out a fictitious portrait of your late father, Hiram Bingham IV, and the means that you have chosen to accomplish this end."

and ended up with this line:

"One final thought: Clearly you love your dad very much. Let him rest in peace!"

Looking at us, in retrospect, we clearly goofed in our responsibilities and this indeed hurts us very much. It hurts because we have been conned by a professional impostor who was able to blind us through his "Visas for Life" project. For us, it is little consolation that Mr. Saul was able to con everybody else in the process, including the Simon Wiesenthal Center or the Yad Vashem or many other news media outlets.

Each and every affected organization and institution would have to make its own internal evaluation for answering to the important issue of accountability and of the readiness for its self-protection in this ever increasingly complex world that we are in.
